brief
“My life has been wandering through the world, carried by a small slow snail, me. All day, I crawl toward where my heart sparks. Tired hands and knees, a day feels long yet life feels short. All I pray for is an endless passion. I keep going nevertheless, with no destination. In a fast world, slowly forward.”
Fast World, Slowly Forward emerges from the artist's experience of moving through the world at a pace that often feels out of step with its surroundings. Through hand stitched textiles and layered fabric works, the works reflects on growth as something that unfolds gradually rather than according to a fixed path. The image of the snail recurs as a way of thinking about movement, carrying with it the traces of what has been gathered along the way.
Rather than resisting slowness, the works embrace it. Stitch by stitch, forms accumulate and evolve, allowing time, repetition, and change to become part of the process itself. In a world shaped by speed and constant acceleration, Fast World, Slowly Forward offers space to consider another rhythm, one where becoming is not measured by arrival, but by the act of continuing onward.
