Art workshops
Newprintmaking workshops will start in 2009.
With a high ceiling, natural lighting and carefully restored heritage interior, the physical space itself provides an inspiring environment for creating art. Add to that, workshops that are conducted by artists who are passionate about their craft. Art classes are catered to adult beginners as well as more advanced practitioners, and participants can choose from flexible, one-time two-hour sessions to more structured weekly lessons. Prices start from $50 for a two- hour session.

Transform old envelopes and used paper into sheets of recycled paper including ideas for inclusions, casting & creating Paper Art.

Make & sew your own little books with simple binding. You will learn 3 techniques for softcover books.

FUN with Collage workshop (by Yeo Shih Yun)
A work created by sticking elements like newspaper, magazines, illustration, photographs, cloth, string etc. to a flat surface. Most of the elements adhered in producing most collages are ‘found’ materials. Introduced by the Cubist artists like Picasso, this process was widely used by artists who followed, Artist Robert Motherwell once said," Collage is the twentieth century's greatest innovation." Here in this workshop, students will learn the various ways to compose an interesting collage with ‘found’ materials & other materials brought to the class. Students will also learn how to mix different medium together in creating the work, for example ink, pastels and watercolour.

Inspired by Chinese icons and symbols, silk-screens with these images are pre-prepared and students can create prints with them, overlaying with different colours and patterns to create exciting prints!

Book Making Workshop (by Valerie Ng)
Create your own unique handmade book using a stitch/sewn binding. Learn how to customize your own scrapbook or notebook in any shape or size.

Making Faces (by Wyn-Lyn Tan)
Learn the basic skills and techniques of portrait drawing. Other non-traditional techniques of portrait drawing will also be taught.

Art Night
Fed up with the Boss? Dying to strangle the office bootlicker down the hall?
If work is getting you all stressed up, come down to instinc and let it all out!
Loosen your tie, kick off your heels and immerse yourself in 1.5 hours of creative, spontaneous expression. You’ll see—throwing your frustrations on paper can be very therapeutic indeed.
Each session aims to be fun, casual and even unpredictable! One week, you could be rockin’ and sketching to music, in another, you could be learning to draw your friend Picasso-style.
Feel free to BYO wine or your favourite music CD. After all, it’s your night to unwind, relax and let art be your release.
